Dealing with Aggressive Geese in February

Aggressive Geese
Canada geese begin scouting for nesting areas in February. If you want to keep geese off your property, now is the time to start preparing your goose control efforts.
Canada geese can be a nuisance to homeowners and businesses. Not only do they become territorial and aggressive during the nesting season and when they raise their young, they can create yard damage and leave a mess behind.
Geese prefer to nest near water surrounded by short, mowed grass and often return to where they have had previous nesting success. Well-kept lawns provide geese with food and a clear line of sight to see predators.
During the month of February you will start to see the geese pairing up and scouting for nesting locations. Most noticeably you will see males fighting off other males to claim their territory. This aggressive geese behavior will progress into March Madness, as our first nests are typically found by mid March.

Our border collies are ready to work
It is important to harass the geese from your property daily before they become too comfortable. The later your geese management program starts the harder it is to get them to move on to another location. Consistency and persistency are the keys to success. Remember, the geese you chase off today, may not be the same ones you are chasing tomorrow.
Our routes are filling up quickly this year, so be sure to contact us for more information on how we can help.
